The heavy running recruiting train the Florida Gators had rolling this weekend continued with the program grabbing its fifth and sixth commitments in the three days, pushing their overall total to eight in the last eight days. On Monday, three-star offensive lineman Marcus Mascoll (Snellville, GA) announced his pledge to Florida over LSU and NC State, while three-star defensive lineman Michai Boireau (Hampton, GA) committed over heavy interest from Georgia and Michigan
Mascoll (6-foot-5, 292 pounds) is the third big man the Gators have added on offense over the last week-plus joining fellow three-star Mike Williams (Upper Marlboro, MD) and Noel Portnjagin of Germany, a top international prospect. Boireau (6-foot-5, 390 pounds) is a massive interior lineman who adds to the program’s defensive haul.
On Saturday, Florida saw a foursome of four-star prospects commit to the program, including linebacker Aaron Chiles (Olney, MD), tight end Amir Jackson (Portal, GA) and defensive linemen Amaris Williams (Clinton, NC) and Nasir Johnson (Dublin, GA). All are among the top 250 prospects in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite. Chiles was the highest-rated of the group at 80th with Jackson checking in 108th, though the latter was the biggest position of need UF acquired this week.
The commitments of Mascoll and Boireau were enough to boost the Gators three more spots to No. 5 in the 247Sports Composite. Florida previously rose 14 spots over the weekend with six of the top 108 players nationally now in the fold, including four of the top 53 with two five-star commitments (quarterback DJ Lagway, safety Xavier Filsaime).
