Tim Tebow rallies Broncos to win at Mile High with two touchdowns in fourth quarter

Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Tim Tebow scored two touchdowns in his second straight start on Sunday including a game-winning six-yard rushing score that propelled his team over the Houston Texans 24-23 at Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium.

Tebow, who passed for 100 yards in the first half and threw an interception into the end zone on his team’s first offensive series, eclipsed that mark in the third quarter alone and finished the game 16-for-29 for 308 yards.

He tossed a 23-yard touchdown to running back Correll Buckhalter mid-way through the fourth quarter and added his rushing TD in the closing minutes.

Houston, which had a 13-point lead over Denver going into the fourth and has the NFL’s worst secondary statistically, allowed Tebow to orchestrate two 12-play touchdown drives to end the game – one for 74 yards and another for 76 yards.

Tebow also completed a career-long 50-yard pass coming out of the half to wide receiver fellow former Florida Gators star Jabar Gaffney.

In his two career NFL starts, Tebow has combined to throw the ball for 446 yards, rush for 108 yards and score four touchdowns including two through the air and two on the ground. His 308 passing yards are the most by a Denver rookie since Hall of Fame signal-caller John Elway (1983).

Sunday marked Tebow’s home debut as the Broncos’ starter. He will lead the team in its final game of the season next Sunday in Denver against San Diego.

    I’m loving it!

    awesome Timmaay!

  3. SC Gator says:

Awesome start! But remember… Tebow will never make it as
a QB in the NFL and the Broncos should have drafted him in the last
    round. As a Fullback.

Wonder if we can get McShay and Kiper’s opinion on his
    performance.

WOWzers! I don’t ever recall wanting to see an athlete
succeed quite the way I have Tim. Congrats to Tim. Even though the
competition hasn’t been that great he is still showing that he has
the make-up of an NFL QB. Go eat a bag of dicks McShay.

its fun to have an interest in 4pm games

Mel Kiper is an idiot, and those who listen to him deserve
what they get ( over-rated, over-priced draft picks). Fools who
just crunch statistics (figures lie and liars figure) will never be
able to accurately measure the intangibles that players like Tim
have – desire, work ethic, heart, and indomitable spirit!

Got to watch almost the whole game. It was great to hear
the Denver fans chanting “Tebow!! Tebow!!” after he scored the
winning touchdown and while he was taking a knee at the end of the
    game.

Adam – on another note ( hate to beat a horse, but) with no
news from Muschamp about OC/DC, could that mean that the coaches he
has as his first choices either do not have permission to talk to
him until after their bowl games, or that they have asked for the
news to be held until after the games? It is puzzling that we have
heard nothing of substance (meaning no personal visits). We would
not know how many phione calls have been made (although if anyone
could get that info, I suspect it is you), however it is unlikely
that Coach Boom could have made a hiring trip without us knowing
UNLESS he combined it with a Christmas trip home…?

    • In regards to Muschamp hiring coaches, it will happen. I’m really not so sure why everyone is so worked up about it. I expect 2-3 of UF’s current coaches to stay on staff and the rest will be people he has coached with or connections he has made previously. As far as rumors about who, what, when, where and why – there are plenty. I do my best to always stick to news, not rumor. Hope that clarifies the situation.

PS- The bowl game is in five days, I would expect to start hearing some names right after it is over if not a day or two before.

@GatorDad : I am of the impression and have heard through the vine that the recruits and pertinent people know exactly who the new OC/DC are as these have already been aligned. We on the other hand will not be privy to this information until Jan 2nd-3rd to limit distractions with our current players and staff.

On a side note, whens Timmy gonna throw a Gator chomp out there? He is really slacking on the meter.

  13. Drew 4 Orange & Blue says:

So can someone share who the rumors are for OC/DC? Adam can you give us your best bet based on what you have heard?

So if the Seahawks make the playoffs is that going to delay an announcement?
