CJ Ingram, the son of former Florida Gators star tight end Cornelius Ingram, announced Monday on social media that he committed to his father’s alma mater. The 2025 prospect from Hawthorne, Florida, received scholarship offers in two sports but chose to pledge to the basketball program.
Ingram (6-foot-6, 195 pounds) is a four-star prospect ranked No. 73 overall by 247Sports, though he holds a three-star rating in the recruiting service’s composite rankings. He is still in the process of being evaluated, and expectations are that his stock will rise throughout his senior season at Hawthorne High School.
A two-sport star, Ingram long preferred to play hoops in college. He averaged 24 points per game as a junior at Hawthorne and recently decided to concentrate on basketball full-time. Florida assistant coach Taurean Green, who is also head of player development, took a significant role in recruiting the younger C.I.
Should Ingram wind up playing football for the Gators one day, his position would need to be determined as he was recruited by UF as an athlete. He has led Hawthorne to a 25-0 as the starting quarterback, including consecutive 1R state titles in Florida.
Ingram is joined in the Gators’ Class of 202 by four-star guard Alex Lloyd (Fort Lauderdale, FL), the No. 40 overall player in the nation.
