While the Florida Gators have done a tremendous job building their Class of 2024, one area in which the program has lacked verbal commitments at this juncture is at cornerback. That changed Friday night as as three-star prospect Teddy Foster (Sarasota, FL) pledged to join the program next season.
Foster (6-foot-2, 170 pounds), considered a fast-rising player in the 2024 class, committed to Florida over Miami and North Carolina. In doing so, he became the Gators’ third commit of the week and 20th overall.
Florida secondary coach Corey Raymond identified Foster early during his junior season just as his reputation was beginning to pick up nationally. The Gators have been earnest in his recruitment, and while Foster appeared set to eventually make his pledge, doing so at this juncture secures him a spot in a tremendous class that is running out of available scholarships.
A similar decision was made by three-star defensive lineman Kendall Jackson (Gainesville, FL) earlier this week. Like Foster, Jackson is an underrated talent who had been scouted heavily by Florida and Miami. In both cases, the Gators won the recruiting battles for their services.
Foster is ranked 757th overall in the 247Sports Composite, but he could sneak into four-star territory as he is evaluated during his senior season. Florida remains No. 3 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings but continues to inch closer to Ohio State in the No. 2 spot.
