As OGGOA reported over the last two weeks, the No. 1 Florida Gators will be donning special Nike Pro Combat uniforms for their 2009 regular season finale on Saturday, Nov. 28, against the in-state rival Florida State Seminoles. Up until now, OGGOA could only bring you parts of the uniform. Now, we can show you more detailed pictures of the entire thing, courtesy of Nike and the University of Florida (click to enlarge):
Nike’s official Web site showcasing the uniform has a piece of audio attached to it that OGGOA loves has found quite interesting. It is transcribed for you below:
This uniform is more than a uniform. It’s like stepping into a live alligator skin – it’s fast, it’s nasty, it’s lightweight, and it stays dry in The Swamp. It lets everyone in the Sunshine State know there is one school that can wear the “F” of Florida on their helmet. It says to others that the old boys of Florida are here for a scrap, and we got 90,000 other Gators on our side. It says we’ve got pride in our state, our school and our team, and we’ll do whatever it takes to honor that. It says that if you’re not wearing the Orange and Blue, you’re Gator Bait, son. And in The Swamp, ONLY GATORS GET OUT ALIVE. It’s the Florida Nike Pro Combat uniform – it’s ready for battle.”
In addition to the uniform, Nike has released new apparel (jersey, hats, t-shirts) that fans can purchase. OGGOA will have a link up Sunday or Monday so you can purchase it through us. For now, pictures of the merchandise are available here.
To mark senior quarterback Tim Tebow‘s last game at home in The Swamp as well as the special in-state rivalry with FSU, ESPN will be sending its College GameDay crew to Gainesville, FL, to cover the game. The show begins at 10 a.m. on ESPN.
