Three-star athlete McArthur Burnett (Pahokee, FL) obviously liked what he saw from the newly-minted No. 11 Florida Gators on Saturday night, choosing to make a verbal commitment to the program shortly after its 38-10 win over Ole Miss.

Burnett (5-foot-10, 175 pounds) was previously committed to Miami but chose to rescind his pledge back in June. He also holds verbal offers from Florida State, Georgia and Wisconsin, among others.

Currently a running back and defensive back for Pahokee High School, Burnett is expected to play wide receiver or cornerback in college. The Gators are already loaded at the latter position, not so much the former, but have a number of top-tier wideouts seriously considering joining the program.

Burnett becomes the 21st player committed to Florida for 2016, two-thirds of which are from within the state’s borders. He is the 16th rated as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite.

The commitment was reported by a number of outlets late Saturday night, including the Orlando Sentinel‘s Chris Hays and Rivals.com‘s Blake Alderman.
