TWO Video BITS: Final Four, Matt den Dekker

1 » The Florida Gators on Tuesday raised the men’s basketball team’s fifth Final Four banner to the roof of the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. Florida fell this April to the UConn Huskies 63-53 in the semifinals of the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

2 » New York Mets center fielder Matt den Dekker has made some incredible defensive plays as both a collegian with the Gators and now as an MLB player. On Monday, den Dekker robbed Philadelphia first baseman Ryan Howard of a homer with a great catch over the wall. Though a great play, it does not rival his best at UF. Having played just four games this year since making his debut on May 26, den Dekker is currently 1/9 (.111) with five strikeouts.

I was at that Phillies game last night and though that was his most spectacular play he made a couple of other great plays as well. He is going to be a heck of a major leaguer.
