The Florida Gators got off to a slow start acquiring verbal commitments from the Class of 2025, but their efforts have been boosted over the last couple of days. Less than 24 hours after Florida secured its second pledge, the program got its third as four-star defensive lineman Jalen Wiggins (Tallahassee, FL) committed to join the Gators.
Wiggins (6-foot-5, 245 pounds) sits 55th nationally in the 247Sports recruiting rankings; as such, he is now Florida’s highest-ranked commitment. He chose the Gators over Florida State, Georgia and LSu out of a substantial offer list.
Florida is now ranked 20th in the 247Sports Composite team rankings after adding Wiggins and three-star wide receiver Josiah Abdullah (Atlanta, GA) — both of whom visited during Junior Day over the weekend — to a class that already included four-star running back Waltez Clark (Tampa, FL).
