It’s long been true that the Florida Gators‘ mascot, Albert, is one of the most underrated in college sports. Sure, he’s not a mysterious big red creature, terrifyingly cool live animal or incredibly cute dog, but he’s special in his own right.
Albert went above and beyond the call of duty on Tuesday when he moved in front of a young child who was not paying attention to the Florida baseball game and deflected a foul ball with his own head.

In a perfect follow-up, the kid recognized the hit Albert took for him and performed chest compressions on the mascot to revive him after his heroic act.
All in a day’s work. Alberta must be proud.
