No. 4 Florida Gators football improved to 11-1 with a huge victory on Saturday evening over the No. 10 Florida State Seminoles on the road in Tallahassee, FL. After the game, a handful of players and both coordinators spoke about the big road win.

» Offensive coordinator Brent Pease on how his unit played: “We finally established some consistency. That’s what we did today. We got ourselves in a flow and made some drives. I’m extremely proud of the kids. We talked about certain things going into this game, last night and before the game and what we needed to do. Really the kids were never phased. We kind of stuck to what we were good at and we really went to what we were good at in the game. Certain guys made plays with the ball in their hands. I’m just really proud of them.”

» Sophomore quarterback Jeff Driskel on playing through his sprained ankle: “It’s gotten a lot better every day. The athletic staff did a tremendous job the past couple of weeks. It felt good tonight. I had a lot of adrenaline going. Near the end it started to wear a little bit and I started to feel it, but I’m fine. … In a game like this, the little ankle injury can’t be an issue. You have to be able to play through that. Everybody is playing through injuries.”

» Senior running back Mike Gillislee on reaching 1,000 yards for the season*: “It feels great, man. Hopefully I started a tradition here. We need a 1,000-yard back every year from here on out. My offensive line, they were challenged all week. Them boys did a hell of a job. We had physical practices, man. I give all credit to them boys, man. They really wanted it and they did a hell of a job tonight.”

Coach [Will] Muschamp said this was a game of will, who has more will to come out to successful. That’s what we did. We fought every single snap. We didn’t get down on each other. We just kept fighting.”

» Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn on the forced fumble by freshman LB Antonio Morrison*: “What a terrific hit. You can feel the momentum swing. For us, we preach it all the time as far as us taking care of the ball. … To all the guys’ credit, they did a great job.”

» Junior defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd on the team coming from behind*: “Just came together more than we usually do. The last game of the season, we just had to come out with it. That’s all we were talking about, that we were going to do it for each other.”

» Redshirt senior Buck linebacker Lerentee McCray on his team’s confidence*: “We knew coming into the game that we were the more physical team. We knew they weren’t going to be able to run the ball on our defense. Regardless of what they said they were going to do, we knew we were the better team.”

» Junior defensive end Dominique Easley on the game’s importance: “It was a personal game for us. They had to feel that same pain that we felt. They had to feel that same black hole in their heart that we felt. We just had to give them what we felt, which was pain.”

» Redshirt senior kicker Caleb Sturgis on how he feels about the win*: “This is awesome. I couldn’t be any happier with this team and this season, everything we’ve battled through. No matter what happens, we’re leaving our legacy with the team to come, and I think they’re going to have many good years to come here.”
