Trounced 31-6 to the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide on the road at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, AL, on Saturday, the Florida Gators (4-1, 2-1 SEC) fell in both the USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 polls.
Ranked No. 7 in both polls last week, the coaches dropped Florida five spots to No. 12 leaving them as the highest-ranked one-loss team. The AP voters obviously disagreed, placing the Gators at No. 14 behind one-loss Arkansas (No. 11) and Miami (No. 13).

fell to about where i thought they would. may not have a shot at the title but now they need to take care of the east and maybe get a rematch with bama in the championship game.
they will probably move us down again when we beat LSU
We’ll have to run up the score on LSU. Otherwise voters will drop us another spot or two, if not remain idle.
A lot of good will come from the loss yesterday and if they get it done next week in practice and we come out loud in the swamp next week, our next real hurdle is USC and we get them at home too. There’s a lot to fix, but Atlanta is still in the sights and even a loss there should earn a BCS bowl if Bama doesn’t lose to Auburn (which I think is there biggest hurdle to an un defeated season).
Not sure what it would take for Urban to take over play calling, but I hope it happens because I would bet the house Addazio will not be fired in the next 2-3 seasons…
As long as the Gators beat LSU I’ll be happy. Screw the voters.
Luke, I agree with you 100%. Meyer will not let Addaszio go, he is too loyal to his coaches, hell, he even said that is why he came back, his loyalty to his assistants.
Also, I can’t believe anybody would talk about a title shot after the game last night. I think the SEC East is a realistic goal, but even that will take some adjustments.
Ttitle shot….really? Am i the only who who expected to not be in any of those discussions this year and us have 2+ losses? Let’s remember the talent we lost last year was substantial. A 2 loss team and a trip to Atlanta is a HUGE win for this squad. If any of you were thinking national championship hopes this year, give me some of those pills your taking so I can escape reality.
Truthfully we will be very fortunate to make it to Atlanta. LSU will be a war,. Think about this … The way we play offense every game will be fairly close. Whoever said run up the score against LSU is an idiot. We will be happy with a W
Wingtee – I think we will have a reasonable shot of getting to Atlanta but we need to grow up quickly. I am hopefull that this team improves as the season goes on and expect it to . I didn’t think we would be able to hang with BAMA up there but we need to put that behind and move on.
My hope and prayer is that some dumb ass AD will hire Adozzio away to be head coach, a la like they did with Zook, and that we will get a competent OC as well as a separate Oline coach. We also need to stop recruiting pro style qb’s with this offense. poor JB could be throwing all over the place if he was at Texas.
My ceiling for this team has always been to win the SEC East and make it back to Atlanta. Am not upset about losing to Alabama and that goal still remains entirely reachable.
I am disappointed on the execution and won’t even bring myself to comment on the play-calling.
Alabama is going to be tough from here on . When Spurrier was here there were no nick Sban’s to deal with . We need to either decide to throw it ( which we can ) or try and move Burton in and go spread option . Brantly can’t be a hybird
