Homecoming this season features the first top-10 matchup inside Ben Hill Griffin since 2012 as the No. 9 Florida Gators host the No. 7 Auburn Tigers. It will also feature the return of a complete uniform not seen since the 1960s as the Gators will don special gear for this special occasion.

Florida announced Sunday that it will wear throwback uniforms honoring its teams from the 1960s when it faces Auburn on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET live in the SEC on CBS Game of the Week.

The Gators actually wore the main portion of these uniforms — the blue jerseys with over-the-shoulder orange and white stripes, and the white pants with orange and blue stripes — against Alabama on Sept. 30, 2006. However, Florida has never worn the white helmet with a solid grey facemask and block “F” in a circle since the early 1960s. It will also wear black cleats with white shoelaces, an old school look that has not been done by the program in quite some time. Keep on reading for pictures and links to purchase some special throwback gear.

Modern touches, of course, include the Jordan Brand logos across the gear and CFB150 logo on the top of the helmet as opposed to on the jersey, which is where it is located on the normal uniform.

A bunch of items with the program’s throwback F logo showed up in the Florida Bookstore last week and are now available in the OnlyGators.com Store.
