The summer was not particularly kind to the Florida Gators from a recruiting standpoint, but the program is quickly making up ground it lost with a number of top-tier pledges now that fall has begun.
Four-star cornerback Jaydon Hill (Madison, AL) made his call for Florida on Thursday, committing to the Gators about six weeks after attending the program’s Friday Night Lights event in Gainesville, Florida. Hill is rated as the 264th best player in the nation, per the 247Sports Composite, and is the second four-star pledge for Florida in the last four days.
Hill boasted a variety of offers but committed to Florida primarily over Tennessee. 247Sports has the 6-foot, 174-pound corner rated way higher than his composite, listing him as the 114th best player in the nation and 11th best cornerback in the country.
The Gators have seen their Class of 2019 jump in the team rankings up to 18th in the nation, though it remains ninth in the SEC and behind in-state rival Florida State. Hill is the 15th overall commitment and third defensive back to make a call for the school at this time.
