While the Florida Gators are in the midst of putting together a remarkable, blue-chip laden Class of 2023, head coach Billy Napier and his staff also have their eyes focused on the future. That became particularly apparent Sunday when four-star 2024 linebacker Myles Graham (Atlanta, GA) committed to the Gators.

Graham (6-foot-1, 200 pounds) announced his pledge to Florida over Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State and Texas A&M, becoming the Gators’ first commitment for the Class of 2024. He visited UF numerous times over the summer, most recently during Friday Night Lights.

“I have been taught to be decisive about my future and me and my family think that it is in my best interest to make this decision,” Graham wrote on Twitter. “With that being said, I will be committing to the University of Florida!!!! #GoGators”

The son of legendary Gators running back Earnest Graham, he is ranked No. 52 overall in the 247Sports Composite and considered the second-best linebacker in his class. As such, Florida opens at 13th in the 247Sports Composite team rankings, good enough for it to be the second-highest ranked team with only one commitment (Ohio State).

Furthering the motivation for Myles Graham to make his commitment was his future position coach. New Florida outside linebackers coach Mike Peterson, also the program’s alumni liaison, was teammates with Graham’s father and remains a close family friend.

Graham committing so early process allows the Gators to strike a tone with their Class of 2024. He will have an opportunity to see his recruiting ranking rise with a stellar junior season, which many expect him to put forward given his play already at Woodward Academy in Atlanta and previously in Fort Myers, Florida.

Florida will now look to keep Graham committed for the next 16 months as it adds more talent to its future roster.
