Friday Night Lights commits: 2016 DB Quincy Lenton | 2016 C Brett Heggie

Just minutes after the Florida Gators added their first new commitment at Friday Night Lights, four-star 2017 wide receiver Daquon Green (Tampa, FL) announced that he, too, would join the program.

“I am truly blessed to say that i am committed to the University of Florida #GoGators,” Green tweeted.

Green (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) has a full offer list with Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, South Carolina and Tennessee all reaching out to the youngster. Currently ranked as the 207th overall player in the Class of 2017 by the 247Sports Composite, he obviously felt that the Gators were the right destination for him, at least at this early point in the process.

In adding Green, Florida now has four 2017 commitments (all from the state of Florida), including four-star quarterback Jake Allen (Fort Lauderdale, FL), three-star WR Lavarus Tigner (Deerfield Beach, FL) and three-star offensive tackle Kadeem Telfort (Miami, FL).
