It was a good night for the Florida Gators on Saturday as the program snagged not one but two 2017 commitments, the second coming from four-star defensive back Brad Stewart (New Orleans, LA).

“[Gators] take care of gators… Truly a blessing to be apart of the family #BDN,” Stewart wrote on Twitter.

Stewart (6-foot-1, 195 pounds) pledged for Florida over Arkansas, Arizona State and TCU. His hometown team, LSU, got into his recruitment way too late, and Stewart had already been leaning strongly to the Gators.

The 153rd ranked player in the Class of 2017 per the 247Sports Composite, Stewart is now Florida’s second-highest rated commitment.

The Gators, which moved from 31st to 28th earlier Saturday in the team rankings, jumped up again to 22nd with the addition of Stewart. Florida now has 16 commitments for 2017 including eight four-star prospects.
