Two-star linebacker Lacedrick Brunson (Miami, FL) may not have been the most sought-after prospect available this cycle, but he was one that Florida Gators defensive coordinator Randy Shannon‘s had his eye on.
Brunson (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) committed to Florida over FIU on Wednesday as the Gators had space in their class to take a project that Shannon believes can contribute both on special teams and defense going forward.
It was a question as to whether Brunson would even get a National Letter of Intent from Florida, but after taking an official visit last weekend, it’s obvious that UF decided he was a take this cycle.
Brunson gives the Gators 20 commitments at this point on signing day and six in the last five days as Florida looks to make a late push towards a top-15 class.
