Three-star wide receiver Isaiah Bond (Buford, GA) committed to the Florida Gators on Mother’s Day, a planned decision date so he could honor his mom. Bond announced his decision in a social media video showcasing his prep and high school highlights.
Though he’s listed as a three-star prospect and the No. 571 player in the nation by the 247Sports Composite, the site’s own recruiting service cites him as a four-star prospect ranked No. 237 overall. Bond (6-foot, 175 pounds) is an all-around athlete expected to play wideout at the next level, though he also plays in the secondary.
Though Bond is relatively diminutive, he’s one of the faster high school football players in the United States and recently ran a 10.48-second 100-meter dash. (Former UF speedster Jeff Demps set a national high school record with a 10.01, by comparison.) Bond chose Florida out of a significant offer list that included Alabama, Georgia, Miami and Texas, among others.
He is just the Gators’ sixth commitment in the Class of 2022 and the first to join the program in the last two months. Florida’s class is now ranked 24th nationally and ninth in the SEC, also 15 shots back of rival Florida State.
