Meyer: “I’m doing fine” after health scare

Speaking with Pat Dooley of The Gainesville Sun, Florida Gators head coach Urban Meyer reiterated that he is doing well after a health scare on Sunday morning. “I’m doing fine,” Meyer said. “I’ll be OK. We just have to find a way to win this bowl game and that’ll be 26-2 over the last two seasons. That’s pretty good.”

Meyer told Dooley he did indeed have chest pains before checking himself into Shands Medical Center Sunday morning. Doctors treated him for dehydration and let him go that afternoon. “I’ve lost a lot of weight this season,” he said. “I just have to take better care of myself. It’s been a tough season. A great season, but a tough season.”

I know it’s gonna take a while for Urban to get over this one but he”s a great coach and a great man and he’ll bounce back big time. His biggest priority now must be to go out and recruit some players who can wear the big boy pads and respond when they get hit in the mouth and hit right back. UF should be able to get big physical players who can play that way. I’ll be so damn glad when they can’t call us a finesse team anymore. Bama made us look like boys.
