Following what may have been a season-saving win over their biggest rival, the Florida Gators saw a significant rise in this week’s top 25 rankings. Florida beat Georgia 44-28 in a top-10 showdown on Saturday, getting the Gators a key victory over a ranked team and their first series win since 2016.

As such, Florida moved up two spots to No. 6 in the AP Top 25 and three spots to No. 6 in the Coaches Poll this week. That puts UF one spot and 10 voting points below the only team to beat it this season, Texas A&M, in the AP Top 25, while the Gators are a single point ahead of the Aggies in the Coaches Poll.

Alabama replaced Clemson as the overwhelming No. 1 team in the nation after the Tigers fell to Notre Dame on Saturday night. The Irish are receiving first-place votes and in at the No. 2 spot followed by Ohio State (also getting a couple votes) and Clemson.

Florida only does not have any games left against top 25 teams despite opening the season with five ranked opponents on its schedule as LSU, Tennessee and Kentucky have all fallen out of the rankings this season.
