Florida football recruiting: Four-star 2021 OL Yousef Mugharbil commits to Gators

The Florida Gators on Friday added a big name (and body) to their growing Class of 2021 when four-star offensive lineman Yousef Mugharbil (Murphy, NC) committed to the program. It was a hard-fought win for Florida, which went up against a number of local programs aiming to land the North Carolina native.

“I would like to thank my family, my coaching staff, and my team for everything they have done throughout my recruitment. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. With that being said, I am very excited to say that I am committed to the University of Florida,” he wrote on Twitter.

Mugharbil (6-foot-5, 304 pounds), the No. 266 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite, committed to UF over offers from North Carolina, NC State, Penn State, Tennessee, Louisville and Virginia Tech.

With Mugharbil now in the fold, the Gators jumped two spots to No. 7 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings. They are now the fourth-ranked team in the SEC behind Alabama, LSU and Georgia. Mugharbil is Florida’s third commitment in the last 12 days and the second new member of the 2021 class.

He is the Gators’ 24th underclassman-to-be (one five-star, 13 four-stars, 10 three-stars) that has committed to the program for next season. Florida is also counting a pair of former commitments now in junior college — four-star linebacker Diwun Black (No. 1 nationally) and guard Deyavie Hammond — as part of its class, giving UF 26 overall for this cycle.
