The first slate of College Football Playoff Rankings for the 2018 season were released on Tuesday, and after posting a 6-2 mark through their first eight games, the Florida Gators found a spot in the top half of the rankings. Florida checked in at No. 11 as the top two-loss team in the field, one spot ahead of undefeated UCF.

The Gators’ ranked victories and losses all came to teams in the top 10 of the CFP Rankings. Florida beat No. 3 LSU at home but lost to No. 6 Georgia in a neutral-site game and fell to No. 9 Kentucky at home. In comparison, UCF does not have a victory against a team with a record above .500, and it will not face any teams ranked as high as the ones UF competed against at any point this season.

The SEC makes up four of the top 10 spots with Alabama checking in at No. 1.

The Gators were ranked No. 13 in the AP Top 25 and No. 14 in the Coaches Poll this week.
