One month after returning to the AP Top 25 and one week after entering the top 10 of those college football rankings, the Florida Gators took a minor slide following their loss to Georgia on Saturday. The Gators had won four straight games, including three over SEC opponents and two on the road, before they fell to the Bulldogs in their annual rivalry game. Pollsters are clearly recognizing Florida’s overall body of work and the fact that both of its losses have come to teams ranked among the top 11 in the nation.

Florida checked in at No. 13 in the new edition of the AP Top 25, moving down four spots. Though UF is nine back of an LSU team it beat, it has to be slotted behind both Georgia and Kentucky. The Gators were pushed back three spots in the Coaches Poll to No. 14, which is fine, though worth questioning why Penn State was put ahead of Florida in those rankings.

Let’s take a look at the latest college football rankings after Week 9.
