College football rankings: Florida Gators down slightly in top 25 polls after loss at LSU
Football

The Florida Gators (6-1, 3-1 SEC) suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday night in Death Valley but are not suffering much in the top 25 polls because of it. With LSU being given immense credit for its win over Florida, the Tigers rocketed up the college football rankings, while the Gators ticked down slightly but remained ahead of similar competition.

Florida moved down two spots to No. 9 in both the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll. UF was jumped by one-loss Notre Dame again in the polls but sits one spot ahead of Georgia, which lost to unranked South Carolina on Saturday, and two ahead of Auburn, which it beat head-to-head last week.

Alabama held on to the No. 1 spot it took over two weeks ago in both college football rankings as both it and Clemson won its games handily. LSU jumped Ohio State for No. 3 overall by virtue of its win against Florida.
