Junior defensive end Keivonnis Davis‘s 2017 season has only gotten worse — and more serious — as the suspended Florida Gators player is presently hospitalized after being involved in a scooter accident on Tuesday.

Details are scarce at this point, but TheReadOptional.com first reported Davis’s incident as a “serious car accident,” nothing that he is expected to have a “long road to recovery.” 247Sports clarified that the accident occurred while Davis was riding his scooter.

Davis was indefinitely suspended from Florida football prior to the start of the season along with eight other players for alleged credit card fraud. He is facing two third-degree felony charges and his future with the Gators is up in the air, though at this point, his health is obviously of much greater concern.

Of the nine players suspended, Davis was one of three who was expected to play a legitimate role for Florida in 2017 as a rotational member of the defensiev line.
