With one week of SEC game film now in the books, the Florida Gators can finally be evaluated by college football rankings voters based on what they see on the field. The latest editions of those rankings were released Sunday following Week 4 action, and despite Big Ten teams returning to the AP Top 25, Florida took advantage of two losses by top 10 teams this week.

The Gators rocketed two spots to No. 3 in the AP Top 25 and three spots to No. 3 in the Coaches Poll. In the AP Top 25, UF jumped Georgia in both polls and moved one additional spot due to an upset loss by Oklahoma. LSU was also ahead of it in the Coaches Poll

This is Florida’s highest ranking in the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll since Oct. 21, 2012.

Clemson holds as the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation with Alabama firmly in the No. 2 spot. In-state rival Miami had its rankings juiced again week after beating an awful Florida State team at home. With Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M and Tennessee still in the AP Top 25, UF has four meetings with ranked opponents out of its 10 games this season.
