In a move that has been expected for qutie some time, former Boston College Eagles running back Josh Haden, the brother of both current Florida Gators freshman safety Jordan Haden and Cleveland Browns rookie cornerback Joe Haden, plans to transfer to the University of Florida in January.

The Orlando Sentinel caught up with Jordan at Florida Media Day on Tuesday, who confirmed that his older brother would be heading to Gainesville, FL, in the new year. This corroborates what Joe said a few months ago in an interview with

“I have a little brother. He’s a running back at Boston College. He’s transferring now to, probably, Florida,” he said at the time.

Prior reports had Josh picking between Florida, Louisville (head coach Charlie Strong) and a number of other undisclosed schools. He will have to sit out one full season (2010) due to NCAA transfer regulations.

OGGOA will have a number of other updates coming out of Florida Media Day shortly.

Hope Joe sends him some cash to hit up a laser place to have that giant BC Eagle removed off his chest…besides that, welcome

  2. dp says:

    Is he any good?

  3. Drew 4 Orange & Blue says:

4 Star prospect but he only got 7 carries last year for around 200 yards….who watches BC anyways

  4. David says:

Supposedly the youngest brother, 13 year old Jonathan Haden, may the the real beast of the family. I think this is just so Meyer can have the whole family and get the the best of the bunch. I dont think this guy is too good. Hopefully, he wont be the final straw to discourage Wilder …

  5. TX Gator says:

Can you say ‘legacy’! With the recruiting situation and the logjam at the position, my bet is the Urban wanted very loudly to scream “NO!,” but couldn’t in the face of Joe’s success.

When Joe committed, the real beast was Josh, when Josh went to BC the real beast was Jordan…

  6. Gatorbuc15 says:

    That’s great! Welcome aboard Josh!
I wonder if there are any more Haden’s out there that will end up coming to UF?
