Florida’s first three 2012 game times announced

The Southeastern Conference on Monday released the game times and network affiliations for the first three weeks of 2010 football season with the Florida Gators‘ contests set to be broadcast as follows:

Sept. 1 – vs. Bowling Green (Gainesville, FL) – 3:30 p.m. ESPN
Sept. 8 – at Texas A&M (College Station, TX) – 3:30 p.m. ESPN
Sept. 15 – at Tennessee (Knoxville, TN) – 6:00 p.m. ESPN

Due to the addition of Texas A&M and Missouri as the 13th and 14th member institutions of the SEC, respectively, Florida is not scheduled face Tennessee to open their conference slate for the first time since 1996*. Instead the Gators will travel to College Station to be the Aggies’ opponent in their first-ever SEC game.

UF will still face UT during the third week of the season, which is the same slot the two teams have been scheduled to play in every year dating back to 1993*. The Gators and Volunteers will not be going head-to-head on CBS for the first time since 1995.

Florida is 1-1 all-time against Texas A&M; the schools first met in 1962 and have not gone head-to-head on the gridiron since 1971.

It was previously announced by CBS in June that the network will carry Florida’s annual game against Georgia for the 10th consecutive year and 16th time in the last 17 seasons dating back to 1996 (2002 – ESPN).

The rest of the game times will likely be announced at later dates.

* Florida-Tennessee was scheduled for the third week of the 2001 season but was played following UF’s tilt with Florida State due to the prior contest being cancelled because of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

    Adam,

Why didn’t CBS pick up our UT game? Which did they choose to broadcast that day?

Starting to feel it! Pleeeease beat A&M. That game will tell me a lot about Muschamp. I am anxious to see what type of team he takes to College Station, especially after the smack. The OBC always backed himself up after throwing barbs, let’s hope Muschamp has the same mojo.
