Four-star defensive back Chauncey Gardner II (Cocoa, FL) has been committed to the Florida Gators since March. Considering he was previously pledged to the school and actually decommitted before reupping his verbal confirmation with new head coach Jim McElwain, Gardner certainly did not hurt himself by proving his love for the team and its fans with a special gesture this week.
While at The Opening, a Nike-sponsored performance event in Oregon, Gardner was found wearing a brand new haircut with the script “Gators” logo shaved into the back of his head.

Gardner is actually now one of Florida’s strongest commitments. Rated as the No. 152 overall player in the 247Sports Composite, the 6-foot, 194-pounder has been flexing his recruiting chops throughout the process in hopes of bringing additional talent to the Gators.
Funny, a little scary, but funny. I hope Chauncey isn’t being a pest when talking to other Gator recruiting targets.
This is is an oddly negative comment about something so inconsequential. What exactly is “scary” about this? And why would there be any assumption that he is being a “pest”?
If you don’t get a sense that this kid is a loose cannon and seems to need a lot of extra mustard then you’re clueless.
I want that
Love it!
I’ll be more impressed when he gets a tattoo. Hair grows back, and I still don’t feel comfortable about him sticking with Florida. If he gets a gator tattoo, I’ll count him in. I knew UF had no chance with mega-recruit Derwin James when he was sporting a Seminole tattoo. Gardner is a hot dog that needs a lot of mustard, I just hope he doesn’t get other ideas when visiting elsewhere, which I’m sure he will do.
