Florida Gators basketball has high expectations for the 2019-20 season, and how the exceptionally young team plays in its nonconference slate may be a good indication of what to expect from the remainder of the campaign. Florida, along with the rest of the Southeastern Conference, accepted a mandate a few years ago to improve its nonconference strength of schedule, and the Gators — perhaps more than anyone — have answered that call.
The 2019-20 nonconference schedule was announced by the team earlier this week. In addition to its annual game against Florida State and entries into the Orange Bowl Classic and SEC-Big 12 Challenge, Florida has games scheduled against UConn and Butler, plus a three-day appearance in the Charleston Classic. Let’s take a look at how the slate shakes out.
