Head coach Jon Sumrall has been on a recruiting surge of late with the Florida Gators adding another important piece to their Class of 2027 on Tuesday. Four-star wide receiver Elias Pearl (Port Charlotte, FL) committed to join the Gators, continuing Sumrall’s run with another blue-chip pledge.
Pearl (5-foot-10, 180 pounds) is rated as the 90th overall player in the 2027 class by 247Sports. He committed to Florida over Ole Miss with Florida State, Georgia and Virginia Tech among his other finalists.
The Gators also added three-star defensive lineman Cain Van Norden (Forestville, MD) as a commitment on Friday, making Pearl the 16th pledge in a class that is on the verge of being one of the best first-year efforts of any coach in program history.
Florida remains No. 4 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings, just a few points away from overtaking Notre Dame in the No. 3 spot. Oklahoma and Texas A&M presently rank 1-2 nationally.
