The 2025 Florida Gators football season is nearly upon us. With summer sessions set to begin the fall season in the not-too-distant future, Florida is simultaneously focused on setting its schedule for upcoming years despite a tremendous amount of uncertainty across the college football landscape.
The Gators announced Monday that FAU in 2026 and South Alabama in 2027 will visit Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Florida, for forthcoming nonconference games. With the additions of the Owls and Jaguars, the team’s updated nonconference schedules look as follows:
Florida is 4-0 all-time against FAU with the last game played in 2021 and all four since 2007. UF and USA will be meeting on the gridiron for the first time in 2027.
The SEC is continuing to explore an increase of its conference slate to nine games per season, which could result in some contracted contests being moved around or canceled outright in the future. This would not start until 2026 at the earliest, of course, which is why the Gators were saddled again with the nation’s toughest schedule in 2025 as the league lazily decided to switch home-away alignments from the unequal 2024 slate ahead of the upcoming season.
