Don’t look now, but Florida Gators baseball is streaking. After sitting at 23-17 less than one month ago after being swept at home by No. 1 Tennessee, the program has pulled off an incredible turnaround. Florida has since won 11 of its last 13 games, outscoring opponents 108-44 in that span to improve to 34-19 on the season.

On Tuesday, UF snatched victory from the jaws of defeat at home against No. 20 Florida State, using a two-run homer from sophomore second baseman Sterlin Thompson in the bottom of the ninth to walk off with a 7-5 victory over its in-state rivals. With the win, the Gators won the season series 2-1 over the Seminoles, marking the fifth straight time they have won a three-game regular-season series over the Noles.

(Only Gators Get Out Alive, indeed.)

On Thursday, just hours after legendary broadcaster Mick Hubert, the “Voice of the Gators,” announced his retirement after 33 years at Florida, the program began Hubert’s final series on the microphone with a dominant victory. UF blasted South Carolina 14-5 to pick up its seventh win of six runs or more during its 11-2 stretch.

While the Gators’ overall record has improved drastically, they are just 14-14 in SEC play this season with a chance to get over .500 across their next two games against the Gamecocks. Florida hosts South Carolina at 7 p.m. ET on Friday and 2 p.m. ET on Saturday. Both games will air live on SEC Network+.
