For two years, the Florida Gators have been reported to be a participant in the upcoming 2015 Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. On Tuesday, their participation was made official when the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame officially announced the event’s schedule.

The Tip-Off Tournament includes on-campus and bracketed games. Florida joins Old Dominion, Purdue and Saint Joseph’s in the Naismith Bracket, while Buffalo, Niagara, North Carolina A&T and Vermont make up the Springfield Bracket.

“This has been a great event in the past, and we’re honored to be a part of it this fall along with a tradition-rich field,” said UF head coach Billy Donovan, who may not even be leading the team by the time the tournament rolls around.

As part of the on-campus portion of the event, the Gators will host North Carolina A&T on Monday, Nov. 16 and Vermont on Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Between those contests, Florida will take on its bracketed opponents at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. UF will open against Saint Joseph’s on Saturday, Nov. 21 and face either Old Dominion or Purdue on Sunday, Nov. 22.

The Nov. 16 contest will serve as the Gators’ home opener as Florida will kick off the season on the road for the first time in 15 years while taking part in the 2015 Veterans Classic against Navy on Friday, Nov. 13.
