Rockies president Keli McGregor passes away

Colorado Rockies president Keli McGregor, a former assistant football coach with the Florida Gators from 1988-89, died in a hotel room in Kansas City, MO, Tuesday.

McGregor, 48, was an All-American tight end with Colorado State who played a year in the NFL before retiring and earning his master’s degree in education with an athletic administration emphasis at the University of Florida.

He would eventually become associate athletic director at Arkansas (where he was part of 11 National Championships) before joining the Rockies in 1993 and remaining with the MLB organization for 17 years.

McGregor is survived by his wife, Lori, and four children.
