The Class of 2026 has gotten off to a slow start for head coach Billy Napier, but the Florida Gators added a priority talent Thursday in their first commitment in eight months. Four-star linebacker Izayia Williams (Tavares, FL), who has bounced around the recruiting landscape over the last 11 months, has decided to continue his career at Florida.
Williams (6-foot-2, 215 pounds) is a blue-chip prospect ranked No. 53 overall in the 247Sports Composite as the No. 3 linebacker in the nation. Though he is now committed to the Gators, he had previously pledged to two other programs in the last year: Syracuse (Aug. 4, 2024) and Florida State (Sept. 4, 2024).
Florida’s class jumped 13 spots to No. 39 with Williams in tow. He is now the highest-rated prospect committed to the program with four-star quarterback Will Griffin (Tampa, FL) and three-star safety Devin Jackson (Orlando, FL) making up the remainder of the 2026 pledges.
