Having won five-straight games in impressive fashion, the Florida Gators were making a case to hop back into the ESPN/USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 polls…that is until they fell to the South Carolina Gamecocks 72-69 in Gainesville, FL on Saturday. Instead of cracking the Top 25 for the first time in a month, Florida (13-4, 2-1 SEC) was once again on the outside looking in when the latest polls were released on Monday.

You win some, and you lose some. Besides Ohio State, this team seems to be losing the ones they should be winning.
I’m not sure why anyone is surprised, this is the same uninspiring team we had last year. What’s shocking is the lack of growth with regards to leadership, fundamentals and ball handling skills. It’s Donovan’s job to at least have these guys executing the basics at a high level.
That being said, he’s done a piss poor job coaching. No one should wonder why recruiting sucks!
Tyus and Macklin have great chemistry and are firing on all cylinders now, and Young is obviously starting to put it all together. The Gators have the best starting frontcourt in the SEC by a wide margin. The performance of their guards is what will determine if they win or lose each night. When the 3-ball isn’t falling, Walker and Boynton have to feed the big men rather than shooting us out of the game. I agree with ncgator that the seniors, especially Parsons, need to provide greater leadership.
