The tremendous effort the Florida Gators showed in Year 1 looks to be paying dividends as the final month of the recruiting season kicks into gear. The Gators on Thursday received a verbal commitment from four-star 2019 wide receiver Arjei Henderson (Richmond, TX), who made his decision at the 2019 Under Armour All-America Game.

Henderson (6-foot-1, 183 pounds) committed to Florida over Florida State, Georgia, LSU and Penn State. Ranked No. 126 overall nationally, he was offered by UF over a year ago but did not visit the program in 2018. Henderson has a planned official visit with FSU on Jan. 25, but it is unknown whether he will still take it. He said he will visit Gainesville, Florida, later this month.

Henderson has been described as a complete receiver who had “enormous production in the Houston area competing in Texas’ largest high school classification” by 247Sports. He is now the highest-rated player in the Gators’ class.

This is Henderson’s fourth commitment thus far as a collegiate prospect. He committed to Oregon in mid-2017 and Oklahoma in early 2018 but decommitted from the Sooners in November 2018. With five weeks until National Signing Day, Florida must hope Henderson does not change his mind again.

Henderson is the Gators’ 22nd commitment in the Class of 2019 but is only one of two unsigned pledges. Florida’s class moved one spot to No. 15 in the 247Sports Composite team ranking, and it is seventh overall in the SEC.

You’ve got to like a player who scores on every play and he doesn’t even look like he’s going full speed.
