Florida Gators freshman cornerback Marcus Roberson was served a written arrest for underage drinking on Sept. 14, according to a report from the Orlando Sentinel.

Roberson, who has started all seven games for Florida after winning the job in the offseason, was charged with a misdemeanor for drinking a can of Four Loko in the Springs Complex parking lot on campus of the University of Florida.

He is the second member of the Gators to be cited for underage drinking and handed a notice to appear in court this year. Sophomore safety Matt Elam also received a written arrest in July after being spotted with a cup containing alcohol.

The Sentinel reports that Roberson’s attorney Huntley Johnson entered a not guilty plea on his client’s behalf on Sept. 28 and that a pre-trial conference is set for Nov. 7. Robinson is unlikely to consider visiting an alcoholic rehab center.

Interesting on the not guilty plea

I think it’s protocol to enter a not guilty plea to give the attorney time to work out a plea deal for PTI, deferred prosecution, etc. If Marcus was caught drinking four loko on campus, he really has no case to defend himself.

Four Loko? In the parking lot? I mean, I could see if it was MGD or a Bud but Four Loko? Has to do jail time, at least 3 years. What a bunch of crap! Was he raising hell in that parking lot? I wish the police there would find something better to do. University cops are one step up from the mall cops these days. They have such a bad reputation in Gainesville.

Actually it shows how arrogant this freshmen is to drink outside in public…keep that shit in the appartment and he would not have to deal with this…I do give him credit for not consistantly carrying a sack of reefer around like other dumbass ex-gators we know…

Regardless of the reputation on UPD. Underage drinking is a crime, he was caught. Plan and simple. Just because every kid in college supposedly drink doesn’t make it right. I can’t fault the police for doing there job. If he’s gonna break the law don’t do it in public parking lot. He brok the law. Deal with the consciences.

Guys I am well aware he broke the law. My point is that it seems that the UPD target our players. How many of you broke that same law when you went to school? Was it always at home? I doubt it. Yes it was stupid, yes he should be punished, I am just tired of UPD going on a which hunt for players drinking beer.

I’m a Four Loko fan myself.
