There is no danger of the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs moving their annual neutral-site rivalry game out of Jacksonville, Florida. The two programs agreed to a new contract for the game in March 2016, and it is on the verge of being finalized by the city.

According to the Jacksonville Business Journal, Florida and Georgia will be paid out a combined $2.75 million over the next five seasons with a minimum guaranteed payment of $250,000 each year along with a $125,000 signing bonus.

The Bulldogs will receive $350,000 to charter a plane each trip (the drive from Athens, Georgia, is more than five hours), while they and the Gators will each be given a $60,000 stipend for additional travel and lodging. The teams will also split the gate at each game as has been the case in the past.

The city is also being charged with funding the cost for a pair of sponsor-free permanent fixtures at EverBank Field noting that it is the host for the game formerly known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

Georgia leads Florida 49-43-2 all-time in the series, but the Gators have won three straight and 21 of the last 27 against the Dawgs dating back to 1990.

UF-UGA historically kicks off around Halloween each year with the game set to be played on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017. Future game dates are Oct. 27, 2018, Oct. 26 or Nov. 2, 2019, Oct. 31, 2020 and Oct. 30, 2021.
