If you thought the Florida Gators‘ 2018 football roster was complete, well, think again. Late Sunday, days after Florida began 2018 spring practice, the Gators received a commitment from junior college linebacker Umstead Sanders (Port Saint Joe, FL).

Sanders, who previously played at Hinds Community College, is rated as a three-star outside linebacker by 247Sports; he does not have a rating on the company’s composite rankings.

The 6-foot-2, 240 pounder will join the Gators as a preferred walk-on this summer. He visited UF over the weekend alongside his brother, 2019 five-star running back Trey Sanders, the No. 6 overall player in the nation who is currently playing at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

“Blessed to be apart of the gators,” Umstead Sanders wrote on Twitter when announcing his decision.

Florida was deficient depth-wise at linebacker a year ago, but it is unknown whether Sanders will be able to contribute off the bat. He was previously considering Texas A&M but looked headed to a non-Power Five program.
