After achieving consecutive wins in postseason play to make up for three straight losses to end the regular season, the Florida Gators received a bid to the 2019 NCAA Tournament as a No. 10 seed in the West Region. Florida (19-15) will open play against the No. 7 seed Nevada Wolfpack in first-round action.
The Gators and Wolfpack will tip off in Des Moines, Iowa, with the winner moving on to likely face No. 2 Michigan, which has to take on No. 15 Montana. Gonzaga stands as the No. 1 seed in the West Region with Texas Tech as the No. 3 and Florida State as the No. 4.
Florida and Nevada will tip at 6:50 p.m. ET on Thursday. The game will air live on TNT with Kevin Harlan, Reggie Miller, Dan Bonner and Dana Jacobson on the call.
Florida is 43-17 all-time in the NCAA Tournament with six straight Round of 32 appearances (2011-14, 2017-18) as the Gators did not make the field in 2015-16. Head coach Mike White is the first in program history to earn tournament berths in three of his first four seasons.
UF has never faced Nevada. The Gators are 16-5 all-time in the Round of 64 with their last loss also being the last time they were a No. 10 seed when Florida fell to No. 7 BYU 99-92 in two overtimes back in 2010.
