Richerd Desir-Jones commits to the Gators

A three-star prospect out of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in South Florida, Richerd Desir-Jones (Fort Lauderdale, FL) announced his verbal commitment to the Florida Gators on Saturday.

Desir-Jones (6-foot-4, 285 pounds), a FIU commitment with a relatively modest offer sheet, was noticed by Florida, which ensured that the big-bodied lineman knew he had a place in the Gators’ class of 2015 while he was on his official visit on Saturday.

“UF COMMITTED,” Desir-Jones wrote on his Twitter account.

A two-way lineman for St. Thomas, he can line up either as an offensive guard or defensive tackle, the former a major position of need for Florida next season.

The Gators now have 11 prospects verbally committed for 2015 with that number expected to strengthen as National Signing Day approaches on Wednesday. All of Florida’s pledges are rated as three-star recruits.

It’s the never-ending story, just a different name. UF again gets someone that no one else (Miami. FSU, Georgia, etc.) wants. The only silver lining is that he’s a big body and is teammates with Scarlett, a player that everyone wants. Maybe him and Scarlett are BFF’s. Wake me up when this nightmare is over.

No thanks, Dude. I like it better when you’re sleeping.

Criticism of Muschamp towards the end was more than justified, but you’re whining before this new regime has even had a chance to get its sea legs is, unfortunately, what Gator Nation is sometimes infamous for.

Turn that frown upside down, bro, and let’s get behind these guys. They’re doing the best they can with what they have to work with.

You’re sounding more like a nole troll all the time. Maybe you and your b-buddy BFF Michael J. should go play together on nole sites. Or maybe, you are Michael J. using a different handle.

After Wednesday, the ratings will mean absolutely nothing. It’ll be time for all of them to prove it on the field. There have been plenty of four and five stars who have been busts. I can name a dozen for Florida without even trying very hard. Marcus Mariotta was a 3* recruit.

Russell Wilson was a 2* recruit. Kalil Mack, the third pick in last years draft, a 2* recruit who wasn’t wanted by anybody either. Only had two offers, Liberty and Buffalo. 24 of the first 50 draft picks last year were 3* or lower. Ratings really are a bunch of BS manufactured for fans to feel better about their teams recruits. You can’t tell how good high school players really are because the level of competition just isn’t there.

Stars mean nothing, the majority of the NFL is guys who were three stars or less. No starters in today’s Super Bowl were 5* recruits and only seven were 4*. The average for the Seahawks is 2.4 and the Patriots is 2.3. I could go on and on but I won’t be wasting my breath on you anymore. Oh, and BTW, J.J. Watt-2* recruit.

    Welcome, Mr. Desir-Jones! Welcome home!

Now come on in and get to work. Can’t wait until you get the chance to prove how all of those recruiting “experts” were idiots to not rate you a 5 star!!

    Go Gators!!!
