Florida Gators win big with commitment from five-star DE CeCe Jefferson on National Signing Day

For the second time on National Signing Day, the Florida Gators landed a truly big fish and top target as five-star defensive end CeCe Jefferson (Glen Saint Mary, FL) officially announced his commitment to the program.

The No. 7 overall player and No. 2 defensive end in the Class of 2015, according to the 247Sports Composite, Jefferson (6-foot-2, 275 pounds) could be a monster along the Gators’ defensive line for years to come.

Jefferson committed to Florida over Auburn and Ole Miss as defensive coordinator Geoff Collins and defensive line coach Terrell Williams made major headway late in his recruitment, steering him away from the Tigers (and Will Muschamp) and the Rebels (which made a late surge).

A dominant force for Baker County High School, his recruitment was an absolute whirlwind, but the long-time Gators fan ultimately chose his favorite team in the end.

Jefferson is the second five-star prospect to commit to Florida on National Signing Day and the fourth player overall to make his pledge for the Gators. He is the 18th member of UF’s still-growing 2015 recruiting class.
