The Sporting News and Associated Press released their respective All-America teams on Tuesday, and each features a number of Florida Gators among the ranks.

Four Florida players were named Sporting News first-team All-Americans, the most student-athletes on the first team of any school in the country. Juniors tight end Aaron Hernandez and center Maurkice Pouncey represented the offense while the defense had senior middle linebacker Brandon Spikes and junior cornerback Joe Haden on the list. Senior quarterback Tim Tebow was the sole Florida player on the second team; none were placed on the third team.

The AP named six total Gators to its three teams, with Hernandez and Haden the sole UF players representing on the first team. Tebow, Spikes, Maurkice and junior guard Mike Pouncey were all selected for the second team.

Can we get a wildcat qb only option on the poll about tebow pro prospects

  2. Can’t change it now – but that is what “starter at a different position” is for. Choose that one.

Tebow is either going to be a Jag or a Patriot. Any other team and I will be really surprised.

Dunlap didn’t make 2nd or 3rd team…..how can that be?

  5. Mr2Bits, I agree.

Drew, Dunlap may have for the Sporting News…just not for the AP.
