Florida Gators clinch SEC East with Vols victory

No. 1 Florida Gators have clinched the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division title and earned a spot in the SEC Championship game after a 41-17 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs Saturday afternoon and a 31-13 win by the Tennessee Volunteers against the South Carolina Gamecocks in the evening.

This will be the Gators third SEC title game appearance in the last four years. Florida won the last two contests and earned berths to the BCS National Championship games in those respective seasons (2006 vs. Arkansas and 2008 vs. Alabama). The 2009 game will be played on Dec. 5 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA.

The Gators and Atlanta in early December just seem to go together don’t they!

I could not believe this video when I first saw it. I guarantee Spikes is done for this. Don’t think this is going to be forgotten by the conference or UGA.

    What’s your take Adam?

  3. My take? A few takes on this one.

First, I think it is hysterical that the only time you post something on here is to try to take a shot at UF.

Next, I think it is unacceptable that Spikes made that move. Should 100% be suspended for next week’s game.

Finally, I think it is hypocritical if any Georgia fans get upset about that, considering a Bulldogs player did the exact same thing to Spikes AND he had his helmet ripped off twice during the game. Retaliation is NOT acceptable, but it should be noted that the bad behavior went both ways.

I didn’t see most of the game. Was there a video of Spikes getting his eye poked out?

The last time I posted here I was talking about the Dolphin’s! The post before that was about greatest Gator coach of all time. Not sure where you’re going with your lashing.

  5. Haha. “Lashing.” Just keeping you in check.

It happened on camera – as did his helmet getting ripped off twice. I’m sure no one posted it on YouTube because people tend to focus on what Florida does wrong and not what is done wrong to Florida. Oh well, big win for the Gators. We’ll see what happens with Spikes over the next two days. Mistake on his part, though.

No harm, no foul. He’s in a lot of trouble though! If Bowden was coaching the Gator’s he’d have to sit out the FIU game and run stairs!

Dude, take your Miami propaganda elsewhere. Spikes will be just fine. Tebow/Spikes were both getting poke in the eyes not to mention the Georgia player choking Tebow. I saw much worse coming from Georgia and Spikes was sick of it. Its just part of the game.

Maybe next time we want your opinion we’ll ask you how to throw a punch or swing a helmet at other players as that’s all Miami is good for these days anyhow.
