LSU win sets up clash of titans with Florida

Ending with one of the most exciting finishes the Southeastern Conference has seen this season, the No. 4 LSU Tigers defeated the No. 18 Georgia Bulldogs in the final minute for a 20-13 victory on Saturday at Sanford Stadium in Athens, GA.

Following a failed two-point conversion attempt that would have put them up seven, LSU fell behind 13-12 with 1:09 left on the clock when Georgia’s A.J. Green caught a spectacular leaping touchdown. After the ensuing kickoff, the Tigers drove down the field with running back Charles Scott breaking loose for a 33-yard touchdown run with 46 seconds left to play.

LSU’s win sets up a clash of the titans with the No. 1 Florida Gators next Saturday at 8:00 p.m. (EST) in Tiger Stadium. Florida and LSU are both looking to cement their place as leaders of the conference and the best team in the nation. The game looks like it will live up to its billing as the biggest in college football this season.

Some may dispute the importance of the Gators defeating the Tigers next Saturday, but the fact remains that nothing is a given in college football. With or without quarterback Tim Tebow, UF needs to take care of business on the road and return to Gainesville with an impeccable record.
