Notes

» Morrison is listed as the starter … becuase he’s starting after a miraculous six-month recovery from an injury that supposedly required 10-12 months of rehabilitation.

» Though there are already seven freshmen listed on the depth chart, McElwain expects to use many more in games this season. As such, McElwain is not promising redshirts for any first-year players. “There’s no one that’s guaranteed a redshirt because you just never know as you go forward. There will be a lot more [freshmen] that will show up in the game day statistics than the seven that are listed there,” he said Monday.

» McElwain expects the Gators to play up to nine receivers, even though only six are listed on the depth chart.

» Though he would not reveal whether Ivey would have been listed as starting left tackle had he been healthy, McElwian noted Monday that he’s pleased with Ivey’s play and sees him playing a big role as soon as he can get back on the field.

» Three suspended players – redshirt junior defensive end Alex McCalister, redshirt junior defensive back Marcus Maye and senior wide receiver Latroy Pittman Jr. – are not listed on the depth chart. McAlister will likely start at defensive end with Bullard moving inside to defensive tackle. Pittman’s role on offense is yet to be determined, and Maye will certainly factor in somewhere in the secondary depth chart.

If this is indeed for game 1, why are Ivey and Morrison listed?
