When the No. 8 Florida Gators take the field against the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday, Aug. 24 to open the entire 2019 college football, you should not have any problem recognizing either team. Especially considering the uniform combination that Florida will wear at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

The Gators will don their classic blue home jerseys with white pants and orange helmets when they take on the Canes for the first time since 2013. Miami has not yet revealed its uniform choices.

Also announced this week were honorary captains for the Sunshine State schools. Defensive back Lito Sheppard will represent Florida, while defensive tackle Vince Wilfork will stand in for Miami. Both are expected to make an appearance on the respective SEC Network and ACC Network broadcasts at some point during the game.

It is expected to be officially revealed this week that the Gators and Canes have agreed to a home-and-home series taking place in 2024-25, the first such series between the programs in consecutive years since 2002-03.
