The third day of the 2016 NFL Draft started fast but slowed down in a major way for Florida Gators looking to be picked with four players eventually being selected from Rounds 4-7 on Saturday.

Linebacker Antonio Morrison and wide receiver Demarcus Robinson kicked things off in the fourth round, going back-to-back with picks No. 125 and 126 overall.

Morrison became the first Florida player selected by the Indianapolis Colts since fellow linebacker Mike Peterson in 1999, while Robinson was the first Gators player picked by the Kansas City Chiefs since defensive end Darren Mickell in 1992.

Though players from the same program being drafted with consecutive picks is unlikely, it is far from rare, especially for Florida. Morrison and Robinson were the first Gators to go back-to-back since Jermaine Cunningham and Carlos Dunlap in 2010, but they were also the sixth UF pair to earn the distinction. Dallas Baker and DeShawn Wynn went with consecutive picks (227-228) in 2007, Reggie Green and Chris Doering (184-185) in 1996, Robert Morgan and Alvin Cowans (252-253) in 1997, and Sammy Green and Jimmy DuBose (29-30) in 1976.

Florida then went without a fifth-round pick for the first time since 2008 and waited well into the sixth round for running back Kelvin Taylor to have his name called at No. 211 overall by the San Francisco 49ers. The day ended with defensive end Alex McCalister, who left the Gators with eligibility remaining, going No. 240 overall to the Philadelphia Eagles.
